These are the dimensions shown by the named sources, not a universal RV sizing standard. The repeated labels expose differences you could miss when shopping by name. Dimensions are width × length; centimeters are arithmetic conversions. Height and available sizes depend on the selected model.

Short Queen versus Queen: one inch can change the order
RVMattress.com calls 60 × 74 inches Short Queen. Tochta describes 60 × 75 as Short Queen and 60 × 74 as RV Queen. A 60 × 80 Queen is six inches longer than the 60 × 74 example, despite having the same width. Copy the numbers into the comparison rather than substituting the familiar name.
RV King is a family of labels, not one footprint
RVMattress.com lists 70 × 74, 70 × 80 and 72 × 80 inches under RV King; Tochta’s FAQ lists 72 × 78. Ordering a residential King at 76 × 80 would add four inches of width to a 72 × 80 requirement. Use the exact platform and mattress specifications before choosing bedding, too.

Start with the footprint required by your bed. These two Amazon searches keep 60 × 74 and 60 × 75 inches separate. They do not filter or verify every returned listing, and they do not establish a suitable thickness or installation.

Measure the space and the bed’s requirements
- Identify the bed and its instructions. Record the supported footprint, permitted mattress thickness and any shape drawing.
- Measure clear width and length with the bedding removed. Record cabinet intrusions and rails, and distinguish the support platform from the surrounding opening. An old mattress can compress or already be the wrong size.
- For moving systems, record the manufacturer’s slide, fold or lift requirements. Do not operate a mechanism against an obstruction to test a guessed clearance.
- Send the dimensions and an oriented drawing to the mattress maker when the shape or acceptable spacing is unresolved. Keep the approved order drawing.

Custom RV mattress sizes: corners, curves and folds
Custom sizing can mean a different rectangle or a different shape. Those are separate ordering tasks. Tochta describes both custom dimensions and irregular shapes; Wilderness’s custom builder separates size, corners and hinge configuration. Do not transfer one maker’s limits or drawing conventions to another.
- Different rectangle: state finished width, length and thickness, with units and the maker’s tolerances.
- Angled corner or notch: label head, foot, left and right on a top-view drawing. Record both edge distances defining each cut, plus the overall dimensions.
- Rounded corner: follow the maker’s radius or template procedure. A photo alone does not establish the curve.
- Fold or hinge: record its location, direction and the bed’s required folding behavior. A mattress that fits while flat may not suit the mechanism.
Before payment, reconcile the drawing, units, finished dimensions, thickness, permitted tolerances, support requirements and exact custom-order return conditions. Keep that drawing with the order. Avoid cutting or force-folding a finished mattress without explicit maker instructions.

Are RV mattress sizes the same as regular mattress sizes?
Some published RV sizes match residential dimensions, but others are shorter, narrower or shaped around the vehicle. Match actual width, length, thickness and shape to the exact bed requirements. A size name alone is insufficient.
Is a Short Queen mattress 60 by 74 or 60 by 75 inches?
Both appear in current manufacturer information. RVMattress.com lists Short Queen at 60 by 74 inches; Tochta describes Short Queen at 60 by 75 and RV Queen at 60 by 74. Compare the actual specification for the item you intend to order.
What size is an RV King mattress?
There is no single dimension across the checked sources. RVMattress.com lists RV King at 70 by 74, 70 by 80 and 72 by 80 inches. Tochta's FAQ lists RV King at 72 by 78 inches. Use the dimensions rather than transferring a label between sellers.
How do I measure for a custom RV mattress?
Record the required width, length and permitted thickness, then draw every notch, angled corner, curve and hinge location with its orientation. Follow the custom maker's measurement or template procedure. A rectangular bounding box does not describe a shaped mattress.
Does the dimension comparison confirm that a mattress fits my RV?
No. It subtracts the entered mattress dimensions from the entered space in the orientation supplied. It cannot establish required support, acceptable gaps, manufacturing tolerances, slide travel, folding behavior or lift-platform capacity. Check those requirements separately.
Can I trim a standard mattress to fit a custom RV bed?
Do not cut or force-fold a mattress without the maker's explicit instructions. The cover, internal construction and order's return terms may be affected. Discuss an exact-size or shaped order with the maker before altering a product.
