Part of our brand comparison hub. US sources checked October 31, 2026. We compare named published models and seller routes; we did not conduct original pressure, temperature, motion or durability testing.
Choose the current model pair before the brand
Our starting pair is Serta Perfect Sleeper X Hybrid Level One Medium, smooth top, and Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II 14-inch Medium. Serta’s selected current page identifies a memory-foam hybrid with a five-zone design and current Q4 support terminology. The named Mattress Firm listing identifies High Point II Medium, its 14-inch profile, ComfortSense gel foam, PrecisionFit/MaxSupport coil features and DuraFlex edge branding.
These are model and design disclosures, not common laboratory measurements. They provide something concrete to try and price in queen, the reference shopping size used here. They do not prove that both Medium labels give identical cushioning or that a five-zone claim is more supportive than another named coil system.
Serta X quilted/pillow-top, Level Two and newer Perfect Sleeper collections are separate routes. High Point II is not interchangeable with every Posturepedic Hybrid or a prior High Point. The Sealy review supplies broader lineup context; Beautyrest vs Serta offers a different surface comparison using the selected X.

Generation confusion changes the evidence
A retailer nickname can be useful only when it is tied to a full product name and current SKU. Serta’s separate manufacturer-hosted checkout chart names Kendall Medium and lists 13 inches, while other X variants have different profiles. The current canonical selected page does not publish an equivalent precise profile. We leave that current measurement unresolved rather than using a family-wide height range as a specification.
Sealy’s II suffix matters too. An older Posturepedic Plus Hybrid review can discuss Albany, Brenham or an earlier High Point with different feels and materials. The name High Point alone does not establish that the tested mattress is this current Medium. Compare model, generation and feel before borrowing a review’s pressure, response or cooling result.
Retail model-identity check
Are the two retail model names precise enough?
Identify both models before applying the comparison. X, quilted, pillow top, Level Two and a retailer nickname can indicate a different product.
The named pair is not identified yet
Confirm X Hybrid Level One Medium with the smooth surface and the exact other model shown here. A current product title does not verify every older retailer nickname or seller-specific offer.
Checked October 31, 2026: Serta’s selected current page · Sealy High Point II Medium. Serta’s current page omits a precise profile for the selected variant; separate Kendall dimensions are not silently treated as a verified current measurement. This is a comparison path, not proof of equivalent firmness, a universal winner or return acceptance.
Once the exact beds are identified, try the same sequence on each: your normal sleeping position, turning, sitting at the entry side and lying near the perimeter. For a couple, observe partner movement with both people on the bed. The purpose is to identify a preference and concern for that actual configuration, not to infer a universal winner from a logo.
Read support and cooling terms as design descriptions
Serta’s zoned-support description and Sealy’s coil/edge terminology identify different design features. A zone count is not a support score. Edge reinforcement may be relevant when sitting or using the full bed width, but the name alone does not quantify compression under your load or partner disturbance.
The same limitation applies to cooling. Serta advertises graphite-infused and gel-memory-foam features; the Sealy retailer advertises SealyChill technology and a benchmark percentage. Those are different marketing contexts, not a matched temperature trial of the two selected mattresses. We do not put those claims on a shared cooling graph or promise a reduction in aches from a retail headline.
If heat or cushioning is decisive, record the bedding, protector and room conditions used during your observations. A changed sheet or thick topper can alter the surface at the same time the new mattress is adjusting, making the cause harder to identify.
Compare complete offers before a discount percentage
Use the same size and actual selected models. Separate mattress price, chosen support, delivery/setup, removal and accessories. If the seller bundles a base or protector, record what happens to the refund or credit if only the mattress is returned. A large advertised “value” is not a purchase-price reduction.
Delivered-quote comparison
What would your selected setup actually cost?
Compare the identified Serta X smooth-top Medium and Sealy High Point II Medium. Retailer delivery, setup, support and removal choices can change the complete quote.
Extras may include delivery/setup, foundation, accessories or removal. Include each cost once. Use matching size and service choices; do not enter a promotional “total value” as a price.
Enter all four amounts from $0–$100,000. Missing or invalid amounts do not produce a total; missing services are not assumed to be free.
No live offers are fetched. Excludes tax, financing, ongoing ownership costs and potential return/exchange charges. Sources and seller-specific policy context are in the adjacent article. This is arithmetic using your quotes, not a price or eligibility guarantee.
The calculator shows purchase arithmetic from your own inputs; the example is not a current market offer. Enter zero only when you have no selected extra charge. It does not include tax, financing or a possible return/exchange expense, and it cannot measure mattress quality. Keep those later costs visible in the saved seller terms.
Sealy’s 14-inch profile also affects the setup. Add it to your measured floor-to-support surface and any topper to plan finished height. For Serta, use the measurement attached to the actual identified offer once available. Do not infer base compatibility from mattress height; use the bed-frame compatibility tool to organize support requirements.
Separate Serta direct from Mattress Firm’s program
The current Serta product page describes a 100-Day In-Home Trial for Serta.com orders and recommends 30 days for adjustment. Its current trial page uses a 100-night headline, while separate checkout material still shows 120 nights. Save the actual order’s written terms; this documentation mismatch does not establish that every buyer can choose a longer window.
The selected Sealy listing advertises Mattress Firm’s 120 Night Sleep Trial. This is a retail program, not a universal Sealy manufacturer promise. Read the retailer’s return/exchange policy with the actual offer for the adjustment period, fees, refund versus exchange process and clearance/accessory exclusions. Different public summaries and sale conditions are not a sound basis for assuming a fee-free return.
The meaningful questions are concrete: when does the clock begin, when can a request start, what is the final request deadline, who removes the mattress and what amount is refunded or credited? Retain the answer with the receipt. Starting an inquiry does not itself prove that a return has been approved. Our sleep-trial diary can help you document the experience while the applicable window remains open.

Research Sealy High Point II Medium
Look for High Point II Medium, not another Posturepedic model or an earlier High Point generation.

Our decision and research method
Choose between the actual current hybrid surfaces, then compare complete quotes and the seller’s remedy. X Level One Medium is the named Serta route; High Point II Medium is the named Sealy route. Another Perfect Sleeper, an earlier High Point or a different feel needs its own evidence.
We reviewed Sleep Foundation’s Perfect Sleeper analysis and NapLab’s older Posturepedic Plus Hybrid review, which identifies its tested unit as Albany. Neither becomes our own current-pair test. An owner discussion about replacing a Serta, with High Point II comments informed the questions about retailer model names and replacement timing; it does not verify the X model or its policy. Our added value is the explicit generation/seller boundary, unresolved dimensions kept visible and a complete-offer calculation.
