A useful hybrid-to-hybrid starting pair
“Sealy versus Tempur-Pedic” covers many different products. Here the main pair is Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II Medium versus TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid. Naming a hybrid on each side avoids accidentally comparing a coil-supported Sealy with a foam-supported Tempur while describing them as the same kind of bed.
Mattress Firm’s current High Point II Medium listing identifies a 14-inch hybrid with ComfortSense gel memory foam, PrecisionFit coils with MaxSupport and a DuraFlex coil edge. Tempur-Pedic’s official construction explanation describes its Medium Hybrid route as TEMPUR material with pocketed coils; its model-height article puts ProAdapt at 12 inches.
Those facts identify the products to investigate. They do not establish that all Sealy mattresses are more responsive or that all Tempur mattresses are better at pressure relief. Our Sealy review and Tempur-Pedic review explain the wider ranges, while the exact pair stays fixed here.
Sealy vs Tempur-Pedic comparison chart
| Decision | High Point II Medium | ProAdapt Medium Hybrid | Buyer consequence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full route | Posturepedic Elite Hybrid | TEMPUR-ProAdapt Medium Hybrid | Compare the full names, not just the two brands |
| Profile | 14 inches in the cited retail listing | 12-inch nominal ProAdapt profile | A two-inch surface-height difference on the same support |
| Comfort/support disclosures | Gel memory foam, PrecisionFit coils with MaxSupport, DuraFlex coil edge | TEMPUR material with pocketed-coil support | Different systems within the broad hybrid category |
| Feel description | Medium in the selected High Point II listing | Medium Hybrid in the selected ProAdapt range | Manufacturer or seller labels are not a shared numerical test |

Why the High Point generation and ProAdapt construction matter
Do not transfer an older High Point review to High Point II solely because both names contain High Point. Likewise, a Haverford, Albany or Brenham listing is not a different retailer spelling for the selected II Medium. Keep the generation, feel and full product title visible on the actual quote; retailer item numbers can help resolve similarly named offers.
The Tempur distinction is particularly easy to miss. ProAdapt Medium and Medium Hybrid are not interchangeable specifications. The former uses the foam-support route described by the manufacturer; the latter adds pocketed coils. If the reason you are considering High Point II is spring-supported movement, changing to non-hybrid Medium changes that part of the comparison.
Adapt, ProAdapt and Breeze also belong to different model decisions. The 11-inch Adapt in our Beautyrest comparison is not the 12-inch ProAdapt selected here. A cooling or motion claim about one does not establish the outcome on another.
What to compare in a showroom or applicable trial
Both selected beds combine foam comfort with springs, but a broad construction category does not reproduce the surface feel. On High Point II, investigate how its memory-foam cushioning and reinforced coil perimeter behave together. On ProAdapt Medium Hybrid, investigate the TEMPUR surface and whether the coil-supported response meets your preference. Do not assume the word Hybrid means the same bounce or the same effort to turn.
Use your normal pillow and sleeping position where practical. After settling, turn several times, move toward the side you use and stand from that edge. For two sleepers, include both normal sleeping spaces. Perimeter sitting and lying near the side are different loads; one does not establish the other.
An owner discussion about High Point II raises the useful question of why a new medium or firm bed can feel unlike a store sample. Its individual experiences are not a defect rate or a shared firmness measurement. Tempur’s official adjustment guidance recommends at least 30 nights to assess its new mattress feel. Keep adjustment advice separate from the actual seller deadline so that waiting does not erase your remedy.
Cooling, pressure and edge claims: what the evidence supports
The High Point II listing names SealyChill, a targeted support system and a coil edge. Tempur-Pedic describes TEMPUR material and its hybrid support system. These are real product disclosures and reasons to investigate the beds, but they are not a controlled comparative result between these two units.
Do not turn a cooling multiplier into an all-night temperature ranking without its test conditions, baseline and relevance to the selected model. The same caution applies to spring counts and branded foam names. None alone establishes pressure relief, partner-motion behavior or durability for your body and setup. We do not assign invented scores to fill a radar chart.
The two-inch profile difference is more directly actionable: add the actual foundation, frame and topper to estimate the finished surface. Check access, exposed headboard and fitted-sheet depth. Follow the model’s support instructions; the bed-frame compatibility tool helps organize those measurements without granting a manufacturer compatibility approval.
Compare the whole quote
Start with the same mattress size and the same service task. An offer including in-room setup, removal and a foundation cannot be compared fairly with a mattress-only amount. Count the foundation only if you need it, and do not count a promotional gift value as money saved unless it replaces something you intended to purchase.
Enter the quoted mattress amount and the extras you selected. For a missing service price, leave the field unresolved. A zero is appropriate only when the service costs nothing or you have chosen no additional service. The calculation excludes tax and financing so that it does not disguise those unknowns inside a seemingly precise total.
Delivered-quote comparison
What would your selected setup actually cost?
Compare High Point II Medium with ProAdapt Medium Hybrid in the same size. Retailer fees and direct-store policies are separate; include your chosen service, foundation and removal costs.
Extras may include delivery/setup, foundation, accessories or removal. Include each cost once. Use matching size and service choices; do not enter a promotional “total value” as a price.
Enter all four amounts from $0–$100,000. Missing or invalid amounts do not produce a total; missing services are not assumed to be free.
No live offers are fetched. Excludes tax, financing, ongoing ownership costs and potential return/exchange charges. Sources and seller-specific policy context are in the adjacent article. This is arithmetic using your quotes, not a price or eligibility guarantee.
A return is different from an exchange promise
The cited Mattress Firm listing advertises a 120-night trial, but that headline alone does not explain every fee, exception or pickup procedure. A retailer’s comfort exchange, a refundable return and a warranty remedy are different outcomes. Save the full policy that applies to your order, including final-sale status and how a replacement changes the remaining window.
Tempur’s official direct trial is a different route: 90 nights from delivery, with a published $175 plus tax return/exchange fee and exclusions. It explicitly does not establish the policy for a retailer purchase. The source is useful for a genuine direct quote; it should not be copied into the terms for a store or Amazon order.
Before paying, record four separate answers: whether you can get money back, whether the remedy is exchange only, what charges remain, and the last date to start the process. Those answers can change which of two otherwise attractive offers is practical for you.
Research exact models and channels
The linked Sealy retailer listing establishes the product scope; delivery availability depends on the selected size and location. It is not an Amazon offer. The following buttons are Amazon searches for further model and seller research, not verified inventory or prices.
Research Sealy High Point II Medium
Match High Point II, Medium and the hybrid construction. Results for other Posturepedic families are not the same product.

Amazon search, not a verified listing. If the exact model is unavailable, use an identified retailer; do not silently substitute another Sealy mattress. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
Research ProAdapt Medium Hybrid
Keep Medium Hybrid distinct from non-hybrid Medium, Adapt, Cloud and Breeze. Confirm the actual model and seller.

Amazon search, not a verified offer. Tempur-Pedic’s direct trial and return fee do not establish Amazon order eligibility or terms. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
Our decision and research limits
Use High Point II Medium as the Sealy starting point when that named hybrid and its selected retailer package fit your shortlist. Use ProAdapt Medium Hybrid as the Tempur starting point when you want to investigate its adapting surface while retaining coils. The next step is a like-for-like comfort comparison and a complete quote, rather than a verdict about every mattress made by either company.
We used the named current retailer listing for Sealy-specific product details and official Tempur support articles for construction, profile and direct policy. A retailer listing is evidence about that named product and offer, not every Sealy mattress. We did not measure cooling, pressure, movement, edge compression or wear. Use the comparison worksheet to retain exact models and terms, then the sleep-trial diary for your own observations.
