The Costco pairing is different from The One
Many Novaform/Casper shoppers are choosing between two Costco offerings. The useful starting pair is ComfortGrande Advanced 14-inch Gel Memory Foam versus Casper Cooling Select 12-inch foam. Casper's own Costco page describes four foam layers, zoned support and a 12-inch profile. Casper The One is a separate 11-inch direct-line model, not another name for this Costco bed.
Novaform's current Advanced foam page describes a medium-feel, three-layer design. Its collection also includes hybrids. Match the construction word and item number before applying a review, a price comparison or a trial assumption to the selected product.

Two extra inches change the setup, not the quality ranking
A 14-inch mattress changes the height you sit on and the pocket depth needed for fitted bedding. Include any topper or protector that stays beneath the sheet. A tall platform plus ComfortGrande can be a different getting-in/out arrangement from a low frame plus Cooling Select. Measure the complete setup rather than assuming the deeper mattress is an upgrade.
Thickness also does not tell you the amount of memory foam, the resistance of the support core or how much a perimeter compresses. Novaform discloses three layers; Casper discloses four foam layers and zoning. More layers are not an automatic quality advantage. Judge shoulder cushioning, pelvic sinking and turning on the actual model.
Plan the finished bed height
Measure vertically from the floor to the surface that supports the mattress, including any foundation already in place. Enter that measurement once; the planner adds the published mattress profile and your topper. Compare the result with your current bed and the usable headboard before changing the profile.

Why older reviews can describe the wrong bed
ComfortGrande, ComfortGrande Plus, Advanced Gel Memory Foam and Advanced Hybrid appear across product history and current listings. Casper Select and Cooling Select likewise should not be treated as interchangeable with Original, The One or Dream. A hybrid review cannot establish the behavior of an all-foam bed sharing part of the name.

Cooling and firmness: useful features, limited conclusions
Novaform describes phase-change gel and a cool-touch cover on the Advanced foam model. Those are material features, not a measured temperature advantage over Cooling Select. Similarly, Casper's cooling name is not a comparative test. The protector, sheets, room conditions and depth of body immersion can change the experience.
Novaform calls the identified foam model medium. Casper describes zoned support for its Costco bed. We have not measured their resistance on the same apparatus, so we do not manufacture a numerical firmness winner. If pressure at the shoulder is the problem, evaluate side sleeping; if deep immersion is the concern, evaluate turning and pelvic settling. A tiny warehouse material sample cannot reproduce every aspect of a complete mattress at home.
Costco returns are different from a direct Casper trial
Costco's return policy describes its satisfaction guarantee and exceptions. Novaform's FAQ directs trial questions to Costco. This is not a manufacturer promise of a fixed 100-night or 365-night trial. Establish the practical pickup or return procedure for the actual online or warehouse order before buying a bulky item.
If you switch to The One bought directly, Casper's 100-night trial, including a 30-night adjustment period, becomes relevant. A Costco order does not automatically inherit that program. Compare the same size and include any applicable membership, delivery, setup and removal charges. We avoid a permanent price winner because a promotion and a different service package can reverse an apparent saving.
Older or used Novaform stock: check the actual recall scope
The CPSC's September 2023 notice identifies specific ComfortGrande and DreamAway units using item and manufacturing information. It does not establish that all current Novaform beds are recalled. For an older or secondhand unit, match the law tag against the official notice and follow its remedy if applicable.

Keep the two Costco foam models on the shortlist if that is your actual channel and construction choice. Prefer the lower profile when it meets a genuine bed-height requirement; consider the deeper Novaform after checking access and bedding. Choose the feel through an actual comparison or the applicable return route, rather than equating height with quality.
