A practical reference
Start with the exact article named in the certificate. A certified cover or foam component does not automatically certify the complete mattress.
A certification program for flexible polyurethane foam, covering its content, emissions and durability criteria. It does not certify a finished mattress or establish organic content.
Check the participating company and ask which foam components in the exact model use certified foam. Absence of a printed logo is not, by itself, proof that the foam is uncertified.
Official scope and verification guidanceTests the certified textile article and its components for harmful substances under the standard. The article could be a cover or a finished product; read its description.
Enter the label number or scan the official QR code. Match the result to the article being sold. This label does not establish organic fiber content.
Check a labelAn organic textile processing standard with environmental and social criteria. Its “Organic” grade requires at least 95% certified organic fibers; “Made with Organic Materials” requires at least 70%. These are fiber-content criteria, not a claim that 95% of an entire hybrid mattress is organic.
Check the label grade, certified entity, certificate and covered products. A supplier listing alone does not identify every finished mattress as certified.
Find certified suppliersThe Global Organic Latex Standard addresses products made from organically grown latex. Check whether the certificate names a latex core, sheet or finished product.
Request the certificate number and current scope from the seller, then confirm them with the issuing certification body. A certified latex layer does not establish the certification status of the cover or other layers.
